Front fenders, deck lid, hood and door prep.

July 2019-July2020

passenger fender

All the parts have several coats of high build primer.

72 monte fender

Using a guide coat and a block I began to sand in an X pattern until the guide coat is gone.

I need to reapply primer sometimes and continue to block until I know its perfectly flat.

Lots of necessary work.

The same procedure is repeated on all the other panels.
.

Everything is dead straight!

Hung up and ready for primer sealer..

After a couple coats of primer sealer, next is color!

Blocking out the HUGE hood.

Both front fenders are also block sanded to assure a perfectly flat surface.

Primer sealer on the hood and the inside edge and top of the fenders.  It's really getting there!

COLOR!

3 coats of paint on the hood and the jams of the front fenders.

It looks soooo good!

3 coats of clear over the beautiful paint, WOW that makes a huge difference.

A short time lapse of sealing, painting and clear on the front fenders.

Preparing the rear quarters for primer.

It's ready!

All covered with epoxy primer.

This is really a milestone, all the metal work done and everything is one color.

High build primer sprayed and blocked out.  I lost the pictures in between this and the last pictures.

Seam sealer is spread liberally on any body to body panel seams.  This keeps water from getting between the panels, a very important step.

Next step primer sealer and then paint!

More color soon!
