The area indicated by the two arrows is where I'm joing the new quarter panel to the body in the passenger side door jam. |
Then it is all welded slowly as I did along the top of the quarter. |
|
|
After spending a lot of time dressing the
welds with a grinder and going back to fill small holes in the seam it
looks like a single piece of metal! The rear of the quarter was welded on through holes I put in the quarter to simulate the factory spot welds and seam sealer just like the factory did. |

After a bunch more skimming and sanding she's loaded up and off to the body shop. |
She's primed, block sanded, primed and block
sand over and over to get perfectly straight.
Just about ready for color!
Oh Baby! She's black and ready for the clear! |
And here she is after the clear is sprayed. Beautiful!!!! Now guess what? More sanding!!!! Although there is very little, wet sanding and buffing will be next to remove any orange peal in the paint. |
|
I'm really looking forward to the fun part of putting it all back together now!
